Heartland Community Showdown

WARNING:  The information on this page is tentative.  None of the information below is guaranteed for Heartland 2019, though the Esports Club will make an effort to follow these guidelines.  We will send you updated information as soon as it becomes available, and this site will be updated at that point.

We here at Kansas State Esports are proud to announce the Heartland Community Showdown!  This event will be a bring-your-own-computer LAN party over the weekend of March 1-3, 2019.  This event will be an intercollegiate tournament that will feature multiple esports titles, held at the Kansas State University Engineering Complex in Manhattan, KS.

The tournament will feature events for 5 different games, listed below:

  • League of Legends
  • Overwatch
  • Counter Strike: Global Offensive
  • Super Smash Bros. Melee (Crew, Duo, and Solo Brackets)
  • Super Smash Bros. 4 (Crew, Duo, and Solo Brackets)

For additional details on each tournament, the points system, and sign ups please click here.

The LAN portion of the event will be taking place throughout the weekend along side the competitive portion.  There will be a BYOC area for spectators, and everyone is encouraged to bring their computer.

We will also be streaming and broadcasting as many of the tournament matches as possible.  This includes having every Grand Final streamed live as well as having spectator rooms for each.  So if you have people back home cheering on your school, they will be able to witness the action as well.

Additional Info

Sleeping Arrangements: We will have the entire Kansas State University Engineering Complex to accommodate us for the weekend.  We will have multiple sleeping rooms set up so that you don’t have to pay for a hotel if you don’t want to.  You will be responsible for bringing your own pillow, sleeping bag/mat, and blankets.  This is just one of the ways that we are looking to save you money so you can focus on having fun.  We will also have a room or 2 set aside exclusively for women to use, if they want too.

Showers: We will have a deal set up with the Rec Center nearby that will allow for people to either shower in the mornings or in the evenings so that they don’t have to go the entire weekend without cleaning up. Of course, you would need to bring soap and shampoo, but the rest would be completely free.

Food: No information is currently available.  We will be sure to let you know what the status on meals are before you travel to Manhattan.
