We will need a couple of players to fill holes on our already prestigious Overwatch rooster that will be competing in the Tespa Collegiate Series: Overwatch this fall.   We will also need a team coordinator who can work to organize practice times, match submissions, and stream scheduling.  There will also be a second development team.  The goal of that team will be to develop as players so that we can remain a strong national contender in Overwatch.

When: Friday Sept. 8th at 7 p.m. and Monday Sept. 11th at 7 p.m.

What we expect for the Main team:

  • Master skill level or above
  • A positive attitude
  • Ability to receive and listen to constructive criticism
  • Ability to practice at least twice a week

Our goals:

Last year our team was seconds away from placing top 8 and receiving $7000 in scholarships, and this year just missing out won’t cut it.  Not only do we want to bring home scholarship prizing, but also the championship.  If we can find 1 or 2 more players capable of performing at the highest level, we will make a name for ourselves on a national level, as well as take one big step in legitimizing eSports at Kansas State.

Overwatch Sign Up Form

Heroes of the Storm may not be the biggest name in eSports, but it is where we got our beginnings.  Back in 2015 the original Heroes of the Dorm team came together to get a top 16 performance and be featured on ESPN.  The support that we have gotten from that has carried us through the last few years, but now we need to go and one up that performance.

When: Monday Sept. 18th at 7 p.m.

Why Plat level League of Legends Players should consider this

HotS offers players the opportunity to learn how to play the map better and to work with team based rotations.  Because the game is so team focused, teams will learn what it takes to game plan and execute map strategy.  Players who play Heroes part time for the year will learn these skills which they can then translate to League of Legends the next year.  Heroes becomes a great one year stop to learn and have a decent chance to win big when League wouldn’t be providing that.  with just 2 nights of practice a week you could become the player we need and still have time to keep up with League for next year.

Our goals:

We want to recapture the success we had a few years ago in Heroes of the Dorm.  We want to achieve a top 4 finish this year.  We know we can accomplish this by hard work and determination, since we will have the tools to become a better team.

What we want for the main team:

  • The ability to  practice twice a week
  • willing to work towards learning the game and the rotations necessary
  • able to receive coaching and improve from it
  • will be a full time spring semester student
